Spartan Logistics is seeking an experienced Working Warehouse Assistant Manager for 1st shift at our Greenwood, IN facility. If you meet the qualifications we are looking for, we would be interested in speaking with you! 
Responsibilities:
•Accomplishes warehouse human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training up to 21 employees, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
•Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
•Monitors building and equipment use and maintenance. Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
•Moves inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse; coordinating inventory transfers.
•Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
•Maintains inventory by conducting monthly physical counts; reconciling variances; inputting data.
•Secures warehouse by turning alarms on; testing systems.
•Accomplishes warehouse and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Requirements:
•Some college, tech school or equivalent work experience
•Building and maintaining a strong team
•Excellent communication with employees and management
•Strong computer skills
•Experience managing in a warehouse environment
•This is a working manager position, not a desk job. Hands on loading, supervision, and training will be an essential part of the position.
